John brings over 19 years of construction industry, contracts and law experience to our company. His primary responsibilities include the coordination, management and implementation of customer contracts, working with VIS risk management, legal and developing and implementing both contract and procurement processes aimed at business improvement. John’s construction career began in 1984 when he joined Nelson & Belding Contracting Corp., a prominent Southern California grading contractor. From 1984 to 1988, John progressed in various construction roles while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He left Nelson to pursue his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA). After obtaining his MBA, John rejoined Nelson & Belding in 1990. As part of his managerial duties, he reviewed construction contracts and processed insurance claims. This work included extensive coordination with the company's insurance brokers, general liability carriers and defense counsel. John continued his education and completed his law degree while at Nelson & Belding.
In 1997, he joined the law firm of Dale, Braden & Hinchcliffe as an associate attorney. While there, he defended developers and subcontractors in construction-related litigation. John joined the Irvine office of Kring & Chung in 2000 as an associate attorney and, in 2002, he was appointed to lead the firm's Ontario branch office. In 2003, he became a managing partner of the firm’s Ontario and Sacramento offices. As the managing partner, John’s practice focused on multi-party construction defect litigation, public works, labor and employment, and general construction law while also overseeing the offices’ growing business litigation practice.
Contract and Procurement operations that were handled in the field and from our North Carolina facility will be transferred to our corporate location by August 2009. |
