Title: Financial Analyst


Location: Corona, CA - United States


Description: Volt Telecom Group is seeking a Financial Analyst who can assist Controller with maintenance and administration of the general accounting systems, including upkeep of the general ledger, consolidation of financial records and submission of accurate and timely data for financial reporting purposes. This person also will support Field Project Management with accounting information relative to forecasting, pricing and estimating cost to complete. Position requires supervision and management of some staff and maintains responsibility for hiring, performance appraisals and all staffing matters related to direct reports. Reporting function includes the preparation and analysis of job cost data provided by our Great Plains software. Financial reporting is maintained on our PeopleSoft software. Reconciliations between the two operating systems are required.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform month end and quarter end closing of general ledger
  • Maintain inventory and cost accounting associated with open and closed customer contracts
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and quarterly reports
  • Prepare all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Assist Operations to prepare annual budget for management review
  • Assist Operations to prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts for management review
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Assist with audits conducted by internal and external auditors, customers as required
  • Provide information to corporate offices for quarterly and annual SEC filing

 


Requirements:

  • Must pass the drug test and background check
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance and a good understanding of GAAP 3-6 years progressive experience
  • Good working knowledge of the strategic planning process, budget management, and pricing and proposal development 
  • Direct management experience in accounting/finance
  • SOX Compliance experience a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel and Access) skills is required
  • Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software a plus
  • Knowledge of the Telecommunication Industry helpful
  • Deloitte and EY background preferred 
  • Good interpersonal skills, which must include excellent oral and written communication skills
